ARCHITECTURAL DIRECTOR – RESIDENTIAL
with a deep-rooted presence and knowledge in Texas to drive our growth across residential and community-based developments. This is more than a position—it’s a platform to make a mark. You’ll be able to shape a growing market, define the marketing and delivery methods that serve it best, and lead with the support of a respected, multi-disciplinary, design-forward firm that believes in people-first leadership. We’re looking for someone who thrives on connecting with developers, builders and local partners, and who understands the nuance of regional markets and delivery methods to meet the evolving needs of Texas residential communities, whether single-family or attached homes. If you’re driven to lead, innovate, collaborate, and deliver with purpose, let’s work together to build something great. This position can be located anywhere in the state of Texas with travel to other company locations. WHAT YOU WILL DO Grow DAHLIN’s residential presence in Texas by creating new relationships and building on existing relationships. Serve as the local expert and point of contact for clients—advocating for design quality and innovative delivery approaches tailored to the region. Collaborate across the firm to develop marketing strategies, integrate best practices, and deliver exceptional value. Oversee projects from concept to completion, ensuring high-quality outcomes and strong client satisfaction. Represent DAHLIN at industry events, local organizations, and builder/developer groups to build visibility and deepen regional engagement. WHAT YOU WILL BRING Deep, established connections with builders, developers, and community organizations in Texas. Demonstrated success in growing business and managing client relationships in the architectural or development industry. Strong understanding of regional delivery methods, codes, and the nuances of the Texas development landscape. A track record of overseeing projects from early vision through execution—balancing design, budgets, schedules, and client goals. A collaborative mindset with the ability to lead teams and influence outcomes. YOUR QUALIFICATIONS: 12+ years of relevant experience in Residential projects including team leadership. Active architectural license in the state of Texas preferred. Demonstrated experience in achieving or exceeding team financial goals and project performance; creating a culture of design excellence; recruiting and retaining a high performance, properly balanced team. Graduate of a NAAB accredited 4- or 5-year architecture school. Must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States without any restrictions. Please note that visa sponsorship is not offered for this position. We offer a competitive compensation package based on experience and qualifications. Excellent benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage and pre-tax Flexible Spending plan. We also offer the opportunity to participate in an Employee Stock Ownership Plan and 401k.
