Black & Veatch has an exciting opportunity for a Water & Wastewater Infrastructure Planning Business Leader based in our California market area. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Provide leadership for our water & wastewater infrastructure planning business in our California market area and beyond Work closely with Client Directors and Project Managers to leverage existing, and build new, relationships with clients and decision makers Provide technical solutions and differentiation for our clients, and Black & Veatch, focused on water distribution and wastewater collection systems Evaluate water and wastewater system capacity, condition, resilience, operating efficiency, and water quality Perform analysis and projections of water demands and wastewater flows Use risk-based assessments to develop and prioritize capital improvement programs Integrate condition assessment and asset management data into system master planning to support replacement & renewal planning Use cutting-edge hydraulic modeling, GIS, asset management, and data visualization software to help solve client issues Provide project execution and technical leadership support for our planning & asset management projects as well as our water and wastewater program projects Support and lead marketing and business development in our California market area and beyond Support and lead pursuit, proposal, and project interview activities As an employee-owned, global leader in building critical infrastructure in the energy, water, telecommunications and government services markets, Black & Veatch has a long-standing reputation for providing world-class service to our clients. Our U.S. planning & asset management business has seen consistent growth driven by our clients' needs to address challenges stemming from population growth, aging infrastructure, system reliability and resilience concerns, the need to improve operational efficiency, water quality regulations, and the lack of effective tools to leverage large data sets to help guide decision making. This leadership position represents a strategic business opportunity for Black & Veatch's Distribution & Collection System Planning, helping the company grow its market share by providing world-class water & wastewater infrastructure planning services. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with technical and thought leadership surrounding water and wastewater infrastructure systems Experience in a client-facing role 11+ years of infrastructure assessment experience including hydraulic modeling, master planning, and data analysis. Experience or familiarity with asset management and condition assessment is a plus. Experience leading technical tasks and project teams and executing water distribution and wastewater collection system studies and assessments that involve system operations modeling, optimization techniques, risk & resiliency evaluations, capital and life-cycle cost analyses, CIP prioritization Proficient with data analyses, analytics, and visualization Proficient with report writing and PowerPoint presentations Experience in developing proposals and leading technical discussions during client interviews/projects Experience and/or familiarity with Geographic Information System (GIS) technology and software (i.e. ArcGIS) Capable in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.) Familiarity with dynamic data visualization software such as PowerBI Experience and/or familiarity with hydraulic modeling software such as: InfoWorks ICM OpenFlows Water/Sewer (WaterGEMS and SewerGEMS) InfoWater Pro EPANet EPASWMM PCSWMM Minimum Qualifications: Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 11 years related work experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations. Professional Engineer (P.E.) license Work Environment and Schedule: This position would require working in a typical office environment. The position may entail prolonged periods of sitting and computer use, and the professional would ideally be able to maintain focus and attention to detail throughout the workday. The position may also be require physical tasks during site visits, including crouching, grasping, and standing/walking for extended periods of time. Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments. This opportunity will be based out of our Sacramento, San Jose, or Walnut Creek, California offices.
