Symmetrio is actively recruiting a Project Manager for our customer, a large government organization in Philadelphia, PA. This role will support high-visibility initiatives led by the organization's Chief Information Officer, with a focus on turning around underperforming projects and driving new strategic efforts from planning through execution.
The Project Manager will play a critical role in aligning cross-departmental efforts, coordinating project resources, and ensuring that complex initiatives are delivered successfully. This is a high-impact position that requires a blend of technical understanding, strong project discipline, and stakeholder engagement across diverse teams.
This is a primarily onsite position based in Philadelphia, PA, . Salary range is $110-125k.
Responsibilities
- Lead critical special projects, including scoping, planning, execution, and delivery of outcomes.
- Organize project teams around complex business challenges and drive structured execution.
- Manage cross-functional resources, define workstreams, and ensure delivery to key milestones.
- Conduct risk assessments, cost/benefit analysis, and maintain alignment with budget goals.
- Adhere to formal project management practices, including SDLC standards and enterprise architecture policies.
- Develop dashboards, prepare documentation, and communicate updates to senior leadership.
- Provide coaching and knowledge transfer on project management best practices as needed.
- Demonstrated success independently managing complex technology projects end-to-end.
- Clear and confident communicator with experience engaging executive-level stakeholders.
- Skilled in coordinating large project teams and navigating interdepartmental collaboration.
- Deep understanding of enterprise IT environments, distributed systems, and infrastructure.
- Strong capability in budgeting, scheduling, risk mitigation, and performance tracking.
- Familiarity with data center operations, cloud computing, managed services, and DR planning.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- PMP Certification or Master's Certificate in Project Management.
- 3-5 years of hands-on project management experience, ideally in a public sector or enterprise IT environment.
- 4-6 years of general business or technical experience, including vendor management and contract oversight.
