Key Responsibilities:
Supervise designers and CAD personnel (2–5 team members) assigned to projects.
Review, comment on, and process system and equipment submittals.
Prepare project-specific AV system specifications.
Develop accurate and complete system sequences of operations.
Understand and support equipment testing and commissioning processes.
Coordinate designs with architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, process, and electrical trades.
Design multiple AV systems simultaneously.
Adapt to dynamic project requirements and tight deadlines.
Maintain professional communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Develop system single-line diagrams, including conduit and cabling requirements.
Align project design with equipment procurement and specification needs.
Perform quality checks before delivering work to others.
Contribute to value engineering processes to optimize project design and cost.
Attend design coordination meetings and interface with clients, architects, and contractors.
Collaborate with the Operations Project Manager to align design with budget constraints.
Identify and resolve design conflicts, errors, and interpretation issues.
Provide design oversight during construction, ensuring timely and accurate information delivery; attend owner/contractor meetings as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned in alignment with the role’s scope.
Education & Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field.
AVIXA CTS-I and CTS-D certifications required.
Preferred certifications: Crestron, Extron, and QSC.
Familiarity with control system programming (e.g., Crestron, Extron, Biamp, QSC).
Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an AV Systems Engineer.
Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong expertise in AV systems including audio/DSP, video distribution, control systems, digital signage, projection systems, and more.
Hands-on experience with products from key vendors (Crestron, Extron, Biamp, QSC, Shure, Epson, etc.).
Understanding of local, state, and national building codes.
Ability to document and archive work to company standards.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; Oracle experience preferred.
Strong multitasking and prioritization skills with adaptability to changing demands.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Self-motivated, collaborative, and professional in client and team interactions.
