JOB DESCRIPTION PPC’s Head of Investment & Product Strategy is a commercially oriented investment strategist, product leader, business manager, and industry veteran with multi-strategy credit expertise across private credit markets and a track record of delivering innovative solutions on large and complex global investment management platforms. As a direct report to the CEO of PPC, the Head of Investment & Product Strategy (“IPS”) will serve as a key strategic partner to firm leadership in developing and driving the implementation of portfolio strategies across PPC’s product set as well as collaborating with PGIM’s other asset managers to structure multi-asset class solutions to be delivered across PGIM’s distribution channels to both internal and external clients. PPC’s Head of IPS will play a crucial role in both ensuring PPC’s products and strategies are understood by business development teams as well as advocating for PPC’s strategies in portfolio construction and multi-asset class solutions. Responsibilities and Attributes
The Head of IPS will be a member of PPC’s management team and will function as a critical platform resource, representing the investment engine’s best thinking and serving as the platform’s central point of contact, subject matter expert, and investment content proxy in collaboration with senior management, to internal and external demand generators; asset class portfolio managers, parent company investment leadership, internal investment and product committees, business development and origination stakeholders, and select institutional clients. Agile and adaptive, the Head of IPS should possess the ability to see the entire field – they are a big-picture strategic thinker with a keen sense of market trends, industry developments, regulatory changes, and market conditions, with the leadership attributes to build consensus, shape thinking, and drive outcomes in product evolution, client engagement, and market narratives. The Head of IPS should possess superior relationship-building and collaboration building skills and be temperamentally inclined to navigate levels and advocate for PPC’s products and strategies in portfolio construction and multi-asset class solutions. The Head of IPS is a highly skilled presenter to Board-level executives, investment committees, and stakeholders at all levels of an investment organization. The Head of IPS collaborates and will act as a key strategic partner with internal balance sheet owners, the business development team, and external clients to orchestrate the design and delivery of investment and ALM solutions to internal and external constituents. While not expected to be directly responsible for fund raising activity and results, the Head of IPS will interface with distribution teams to both ensure PPC’s products are strategies are understood as well as take in market feedback in order to enhance and construct PPC’s investment strategies to better suit client objectives. The Head of IPS will serve as an investments and markets thought leader and is expected to be well-versed in PPC asset class offerings and business segments – capable of leading key strategic portfolio design discussions, asset allocation strategy, private market portfolio construction, asset liability, and risk management, and other portfolio management and principles. Qualifications:
A minimum of 15 years of Private Market Fixed Income and Alternative Credit asset class experience leading Portfolio Management, Investment Strategy, Product Management, or Multi-Strat Credit Solutions team or business strongly preferred. Private Placements, Direct Lending, and Mezzanine to Mid-Market Corporates and Infrastructure. Refined strategic thinking abilities and history of investment product innovation leading to positive commercial outcomes. Product development experience with institutional private funds, BDC, and CLO funds. Portfolio advisory and investment strategy experience driving portfolio Asset Allocation, portfolio construction, ALM and institutional portfolio advisory to liability aware universe of investors. Prior experience elevating centralized business development organizations; product strategy and education. Superior leadership, communication skills, and shaping abilities.
