Position Summary The Department of Psychiatry at Morehouse School of Medicine is seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor level Psychiatrist with a strong interest in community psychiatry. The successful candidate should be comfortable working with a culturally diverse patient population and with treatment teams within a multidisciplinary, multi-specialty environment. This is an outpatient position.
Minimum Qualifications
MD degree
Georgia Medical License
Board Certification in Psychiatry
Preferred experience in medical student and/or resident teaching
Good interpersonal skills
High level of professionalism
Must be able to obtain clinical privileges at Grady Hospital
Preferred Qualifications
Additional preferred qualifications if any
Description of Job Duties
Engage in teaching, scholarly, and clinical service in psychiatry and behavioral sciences.
Participate in department teaching programs.
Engage in patient care activities, including outpatient services and behavioral health integration in primary care utilizing telepsychiatry.
Serve as an attending for Grady Behavioral Health Outpatient Services.
Supervise and evaluate trainees.
Serve on departmental, institutional, and community committees.
Assist with resident recruitment and research projects.
Participate in faculty development programs.
Additional Information This position is mid-senior level, full-time, in the field of education and training within higher education.
