As the Manager of Configuration, you will be responsible for growing the maturity of your team and ensuring alignment with DMBA's mission. This pivotal role involves overseeing the setup, maintenance, and optimization of our core system, particularly the QNXT/FACETS platform, to ensure seamless operations and exceptional customer experiences. This individual will be responsible for ensuring system configuration aligns with business goals, regulatory requirements, and operational excellence standards in a health plan environment.
What you'll do:
As a People Manager, provide coaching, mentoring, and feedback to team members.
Lead and guide a team of configuration analysts, set priorities, delegate tasks, and ensure resources are available.
Facilitate development and training to grow employees to enhance their skills and career goals.
Conduct performance reviews and address performance issues.
Ensure the accurate and timely implementation of critical information, such as provider data, benefits, pricing, and claims processing rules.
Align configuration strategies with DMBA's mission and vision to ensure teams deliver value that meets strategic goals and complies with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Lead and manage projects related to configuration implementation, enhancements, and upgrades; guide the implementation of new features, modules, and integrations.
Partner with leadership to develop OKRs, business cases and configuration strategies; communicate expectations with success measures for teams and partners.
Promote cross-functional team collaboration and manage incident management.
Develop a strong collaborative working partnership with business partners, IT Product Management, Engineering Managers, Architecture, and technology teams.
This is a hybrid role located in Salt Lake City, UT.
Responsibilities and Expectations
Lead and manage a team of configuration analysts and specialists for Facets or QNXT.
Oversee and execute end-to-end configuration of core system modules, including claims, benefits, providers, members, billing, and pricing.
Translate business requirements into system configurations and rule logic, ensuring compliance with CMS, NCQA, HIPAA, and state-level mandates.
Partner with IT, product, and operations teams to support system upgrades, releases, and integration projects.
Maintain version control and documentation for all configuration changes.
Monitor performance and accuracy of configuration-driven processes (claims adjudication, provider pricing, benefit determination).
Develop and enforce QA, testing, and validation protocols for configuration changes.
Serve as subject matter expert (SME) for the selected system (Facets or QNXT) during audits, vendor interactions, and leadership reviews.
Provide training and mentoring to junior team members and stakeholders on system behavior and best practices.
Support implementation of new lines of business (e.g., Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, Commercial) within the platform.
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (Master's preferred).
5+ years of hands-on experience configuring Facets or QNXT in a health plan or managed care environment.
5+ years in a leadership or supervisory role, ideally managing cross-functional configuration or operations teams.
Deep understanding of core health plan operations: claims processing, provider networks, benefits design, and plan hierarchy.
Experience with configuration tools (Facets, QNXT, Networx).
Familiarity with industry standards: EDI 837/835, HIPAA transactions, CMS guidelines, and state regulatory frameworks.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
