The Fredericksburg HCC (FxHCC), opening in March 2025, is seeking an Associate Chief Health Informatics Officer (ACHIO). Part of the Central Virginia VA Health Care System (CVHCS), FxHCC will expand services in a growing veteran region. Working with the Director of Clinical Services at FxHCC and the CVHCS CHIO in Richmond, the ACHIO will coordinate informatics efforts at FxHCC and oversee ambulatory care informatics initiatives for the CVHCS Health informatics service. Duties Functions
This role combines clinical, administrative, and technical knowledge to develop, manage, and lead major clinical informatics initiatives. The incumbent will assess information needs, evaluate clinical processes, develop decision support systems, and oversee clinical information systems. Core informatics functions include application support, business architecture management, enterprise data management, content management, system optimization, change management, requirements management, and partnership management. Administrative Must demonstrate mastery in medical knowledge, be a licensed clinician, understand healthcare processes, and lead organizational change. Perform duties as assigned.
Patient Care Responsibilities
Practice medicine at FxHCC in a part-time capacity of at least 25% FTE. Support VA clinical information systems and assist practitioners in providing quality care. Ensure data quality and effective information transfer. Coordinate electronic health record software and decision support tools.

U.S. Citizenship. Full, unrestricted medical license. Board certification or eligibility in primary medical specialty and Clinical Informatics. Residency training approved by VA or equivalent experience. Proficiency in English. Additional qualifications include MD or DO degree, leadership experience in informatics, and active medical license.
