Job Summary
The Regulatory Specialist II provides regulatory and technical information to internal and external customers for the products manufactured and sold by Newly Weds Foods, in accordance with government regulations and NWF Policies and Procedures.
Essential Functions
Assess and process customer requests for higher level technical documentation efficiently and accurately in accordance with NWF policies and current regulations. Technical information includes, but not limited to, product specifications, allergen forms/questionnaires, formulas, religious or dietary certifications, customized response letters, maintenance of online portals, and customer questionnaires.
Be assigned as a project lead for key accounts.
Proficiently write compliant FDA ingredient statements, fully understand and apply USDA labeling regulations, and be knowledgeable of retail food labeling regulations and guidance.
Provide the highest level of expertise and technical regulatory customer service to customers, as well as sales and R&D, to commercialize and meet the marketing demands of new and existing products.
Support continuous improvement activities associated with technical information requests and department objectives; coordinate implementation with Regulatory Management.
Analyze work performed and report to upper management the emerging trends in requests, potential areas of improvement, or risk/impact of the inquiries with respect to NWF policy & procedure.
Review and document procedures as directed by Regulatory Management.
Provide training and presentations for NWF employees and customers as needed.
Read, analyze, and interpret food-industry periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Perform duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in food science or a related discipline
3+ years’ experience in Regulatory and/or Science-related field
Strong analytical abilities, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Effective project management skills
Proven Interpersonal Skills
Excellent written and oral communication
Excellent computer skills in Word, Excel, Lotus, AS400 or similar manufacturing IS, and web-based platforms
Work Environment

Salary Range:
$75,000-$95,000
