Summary
The Coordinator of Desk Operations works within the Facilities and Operations team to foster a residential environment that aligns with the Department of Residential Life & Housing's goals and vision. Our mission is to provide safe, inclusive, and well-maintained facilities that build intentional communities, empowering residents in academic excellence, citizenship, and personal growth.
The Coordinator of Desk Operations is a full-time professional with experience in scheduling management and desk operations. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Operations. The Coordinator supervises the Desk Coordinators and leads the Desk Assistant Operations from 8 a.m. to midnight.
Typical Duties Responsible for hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating all full-time Information Desk Coordinators and hourly Desk Assistant staff. Schedule and support the Desk Coordinator rotation to provide crisis response for emergencies within the residence hall information desks. Coordinate the administrative functions of residence hall information desks across campus. Provide leadership in promoting an atmosphere within the residential community that fosters responsible decision-making among Desk Coordinators and Desk Assistants. Qualifications
Typical Education and Experience
Relevant Bachelor's Degree and/or relevant professional experience. Previous Residence Life or experience in a higher education setting; Significant experience in customer service and the ability to facilitate customer service training. Experience collaborating with administrative services, residential life, facilities, conference, and mail services. Experience conducting recruitment, selection, or training processes; Specific experience with platforms like eRezLife, Canvas, StarRez, and the Google Suite Applications. Has supervision experience.
