UCSF Fresno Emergency Medicine – Assistant Research Director
The Department of Emergency Medicine at UCSF Fresno, in conjunction with Inspire Health Medical Group, is seeking an Assistant Research Director. We are searching for a faculty member who is an experienced EM researcher or a junior EM researcher with enthusiasm to develop a research career while helping to manage the growth of our departmental research mission. Working closely with the Research Director, this individual will be responsible for accelerating the growth of a research program that has been involved with multicenter studies such as the PETAL Network and PREVENT and is starting with the SIREN network. Our research support includes a full-time research coordinator, statistical consultation, Information Systems support, clinical research space, and significant protected time. Qualified candidates should be able to demonstrate a track record of interest, excellence, and productivity in research or demonstrated preparation for research career. The successful candidate will assist with establishing and maintaining extramurally funded research and participate in our strong graduate and medical student training programs through mentorship and teaching.
Our emergency medicine residency program was founded in 1974 and includes 46 EM residents in a PGY1-4 format, supported by UCSF and Community Regional Medical Center (CRMC) in Fresno, CA. CRMC has 630 beds, exceeded 120,000 ED visits last year, while being amongst the busiest Level One Trauma Centers in California. We serve as the Base Hospital for a four-county comprehensive EMS System and provide medical direction to the National Park Service. Our faculty group consists of 45 full time, residency trained, board certified emergency physicians, many with additional fellowship training. We seek qualified board certified (or board eligible in the process of obtaining board certification) candidates in Emergency Medicine with subspecialty expertise. Candidates must also have an active California medical license or be eligible to apply for one. The applicant must have met all requirements by time of hire.

Salary: $224,640-$280,800. The range listed is exclusively for base compensation for full-time employment and does not include incentive compensation or benefits. Actual compensation may be adjusted for experience, training, hospital/community need and other factors. Actual compensation may also vary based on additional services, including call coverage, administrative services, performance bonus, and/or productivity.
