Job Description
This position will be responsible for the design, development, timing, and production release of systems/components within Fuels Systems, including Canisters, evaporative system leak monitors, fresh air filters, fuel tank pressure sensors, and related lines. Responsibilities will also include quality improvements, value optimization, weight reduction, and other efficiency initiatives, including communicating technical product status to management.
The Design Release Engineer will interact with suppliers and work closely with internal and external groups such as testing and prototype labs, CAE engineers, vehicle program teams, supplier operations, and manufacturing plants.
Requirements: - 100% ONSITE - Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university or equivalent. - 1-3 years of design/development automotive engineering experience in Fuel Systems and/or EVAP. Experience specifically in Fuel Systems is a plus. - Strong leadership, communication, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities. - Beneficial experience includes: Formula SAE, Baja, or similar college projects.
Additional Requirements: - Extensive automotive product engineering experience. - Prototype development experience. - Experience with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA). - Experience with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R). - Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) Belt certification. - Solid understanding of system/component design. - Familiarity with NX, Teamcenter, and CoDeP software.
