Country View Family Farms LLC d/b/a Clemens Food Group Duties:
Oversee artificial insemination. Execute barn environment check (air, water, feed). Execute boar management, train boars, cull selection. Comply with euthanasia policy, month end breed barn inventory and oversee all record keeping for area. Ensure overall barn organization and cleanliness. Ensure that the Semen Handling Policy is being followed, training of gilts on Electronic Sow Feeding System (ESFS). Fill in for manager as needed. Gilt selection to meet gilt replacement target, gilt acclimation and transfer gilts from GDU to breeding. Manage breed group makeup, open sows/gilts, sow and gilt flow through breeding area, sow inventory and schedule GDU vaccinations. Monitor daily ventilation checklist, feed system for proper operation, semen quality, and sow herd health and condition of open pool. Organize and manage crate/pen space in breed barn. Oversee heat checking of open pool & treatments of GDU and open pool. Receive gilts into GDU and review action list. Data corrections to Pig Knows in a timely manner. Communicate month end supply needs to manager, repair and maintenance needs to manager, internal/external customers, manager obstacles to implementing policies. Create and communicate daily work schedule, delegate tasks to team members, communicate new policies, lead weekly breeding team meeting. Oversee and troubleshoot department repairs/maintenance. Participate in weekly farm team meeting Responsible for response to emergency alarms and situations. Participate/lead in monthly talk topics, safety huddles, manage ADKAR plans. Schedule:

Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering, Veterinary Science, Veterinary Medicine or related field of study and six (6) months of experience as a Swine Herdsperson, Veterinarian, Swine Veterinarian, Veterinary Assistant, Farm Assistant, Agricultural Manager or related role where required experience gained. Special Skills:
Meet all bio-security requirements as outlined by Animal Care policy/procedure; Knowledge of Animal Welfare requirements and Code of Conduct; Ability to tolerate a barn environment, which may include animal dander, manure, dust, blood, odors and frequently noisy conditions; Management of electronic sow feeding systems (ESF) to ensure optimal physical condition of sows; Specific knowledge of Artificial Insemination processes and swine nutritional management; and Ability to interpret production reports based on farrowing rate and develop action plans based on data to continuously improve indices.
