Senior Systems Administrator . Job Description
The
Senior Systems Administrator
will have broad knowledge of server applications in a distributed Linux environment. Responsibilities include supporting installation, configuration, tuning, load testing, product evaluation, and deployment of server applications in labs and production environments. The candidate must quickly familiarize with new third-party applications and install/configure software packages supporting development, testing, and delivery teams. Deployment to QA, Integration, and Production environments is also required. Extensive troubleshooting experience is essential. The SSA will be part of Tier 4 support. Must have knowledge of: Apache Web Server, Linux OS, J2EE platforms such as Weblogic, JBOSS, Tomcat, or WebSphere. Familiarity with Oracle and open-source applications like Apache is required. Preferred skills include: NoSQL databases, Virtual Machines (VMWare, KVM), cloud services, Agile development, RabbitMQ, Riak, automation and monitoring tools like Chef, Puppet, Nagios. Experience with storage technologies such as SAN, NAS, File Systems. Ability to research, prototype, test, and verify new Cloud platforms and their application enablers. Experience deploying Java-based applications or web servers like Tomcat, Weblogic, JBoss. Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Ganglia. Proficiency in Linux OS installation and deployment.
