Base pay range
$75,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr CoverageX is a growing leader in the Vehicle Service Contracts industry. We help drivers protect themselves from unexpected vehicle repair costs with reliable coverage and a strong focus on customer satisfaction. Headquartered in Clearwater, Florida, we serve drivers and homeowners nationwide through a 550-person team spanning policy sales, customer service, and claims. We’re looking for a Database Administrator to help manage and improve our growing data infrastructure. This role involves supporting day-to-day database operations, partnering with developers on schema and performance improvements, and contributing to larger infrastructure projects. You'll play a key part in ensuring our systems remain reliable, secure, and scalable as we continue to grow. What You’ll Do Manage and optimize our MySQL/MariaDB environments (backups, replication, indexing, etc.) Monitor query performance and execution plans, and recommend real improvements Partner with developers to support stored procedures, schema changes, and migrations Implement and maintain secure, efficient data access policies Contribute to high-availability planning and disaster recovery strategies Support Linux-based database servers and write shell/database-level scripts as needed Help guide our long-term transition from MySQL to MSSQL Provide database support for our PHP-based applications, with future expansion to C#/.NET Collaborate with AWS infrastructure teams (RDS, EC2) on deployment and scaling decisions What We’re Looking For Hands-on experience managing MySQL or MariaDB in production Solid grasp of Linux server environments and command-line tools Experience working with AWS services (especially RDS, EC2, S3, IAM) Comfortable working directly with dev teams and participating in code/database reviews Familiarity with PHP-based systems (Laravel experience is a plus) Exposure to MSSQL Server or interest in learning it Experience supporting mobile app backends (iOS/Android) is a bonus Seniority level
