This role supports the 844th Communications Group at Joint Base Andrews (JBA), including supporting the Air Force District of Washington (AFDW) and Headquarters Air Force (HAF) on NIPRNet and SIPRNet domains for the CCC building development. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong customer service orientation, and experience advising Chief Architects and government/contractor staff. Lead design of CCC data center support systems, including power, UPS, HVAC, cabling, and layout. Create architectural artifacts such as system diagrams, recommendations, and specifications. Maintain project documentation throughout all phases of construction. Review and develop civil, structural, and architectural RFPs. Conduct site assessments, design meetings, and construction reviews. Collaborate with stakeholders to define data center processes and standards. Coordinate access and logistics support. Manage installation and maintenance of data center equipment. Ensure compliance with security protocols. Qualifications
Bachelors Degree and 5+ years in Civil Engineering or relevant datacenter/mission-critical facility design experience. Active Secret security clearance. Experience managing hardware configurations and data center strategies. Knowledge of power infrastructure, redundancy, containment, fire suppression, and security standards. Proficiency in building codes and regulations. Strong relationship-building skills and ability to work independently or collaboratively. Excellent communication, research, decision-making, and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Visio, or AutoCAD. Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection guidelines. Desired Skills and Certifications: DoD 8140 compliance, Data Center Management Certification, experience with DCIM software like NLYTE.
