Overview
Data Systems Analysts, Inc. has an opening for a Structured Query Language (SQL) Database Administrator. This is a full-time remote position. The SQL Database Administrator (DBA) will work as part of a dedicated team supporting a complex Air Force enterprise application. This role will be responsible for deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting SQL Server instances.
Required Qualifications
Active or Current DoD Secret Clearance
3 to 5 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA (installing /configuring SQL Server 2016-2022)
3 to 5 years of experience with backups, restores and recovery models
2 years of experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO)
Experience with SQL Profiler to generate traces, view execution plans, identify deadlocks/contention and resolve them
Demonstrated experience with Windows Server and Active Directory account management
Critical thinker with problem-solving and time-management skills
Works effectively with other IT professionals and stakeholders
Demonstrated experience using a modern ticket management system
Active Security+ Certification
Desired Qualifications
Current Knowledge of Air Force Network environments
Experience with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) on SQL Server
Experience supporting distributed SQL Server instances and/or SQL Server Replication
Experience installing/configuring SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) on SQL 2016-2022
Experience with Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
Experience using Gitlab or similar repository tools
Experience working in a Microsoft Azure environment

Key Responsibilities
Acts as one of the primary database administration resources for the system, including:
Install and configure Microsoft SQL database servers to meet custom software needs
Monitor system health and performance
Ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security
Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement
Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours
Must be detail oriented and work well with a team
