Job Category: Technical Full-time position available. NorthWest EMS is a professional non-profit ambulance service covering the 911 medical services for 15 municipalities in Allegheny County as well as the Pittsburgh International Airport. NorthWest EMS responds to over 20,000 calls for service each year. NorthWest EMS offers a diverse work environment under a progressive medical command system. The EMS Dispatcher will be responsible for tasks including, but not limited to: Answering inbound calls promptly and politely Listening to the caller and determining what type of assistance they require Directing crew movement and allocation of emergency resources based on system status management Scheduling non-emergency transports and courtesy shuttle appointments Thorough documentation of each incident Preparation of daily run reports Requirements: Valid Drivers License High School Diploma or G.E.D. Act 33, 34, and 73 clearances Preferred: PA Certified EMT or Nationally Registered EMT with ability to become PA Certified AHA BLS for the Healthcare Provider (or equivalent) EVOC/EVDT At least 2 years EMS experience ICS 100, 200, 700, 800 Certified Emergency Medical Dispatcher Benefits: Competitive starting wage with yearly merit increase Medical, vision, and dental insurance for full time 401(k) plan with company match Life and supplemental insurances (full time eligible for free group term life) Paid time off (full-time) Bereavement pay (full time) $100 yearly uniform allowance (full time) *pay discussed upon offer/commensurate with experience Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
