IT Technical Specialist . This is a
contract-to-hire
role based
on-site in Canton, MA , with occasional visits (1–2 times per month) to
Concord, MA . This position exists to provide on-site end-user IT support, manage lab environment systems, and assist with PC builds and troubleshooting, all while working independently with remote guidance from the US-based team. In this role, you will be the only onsite support resource you will work with a team of people who are supporting different offices. The manager will meet with you weekly as well to ensure collaboration and support. What You Bring to the Role (Ideal Experience) Minimum of
5 years of IT experience
in a support, desktop, or technical specialist role Strong hands-on skills building and refreshing PCs Experience:
2-4 years of IT support experience in a corporate environment, particularly with desktop refresh processes, break-fix, and ticketing. Technical Skills:
Strong proficiency in Microsoft products (Windows 11, Office 365, and AV support), and familiarity with Lenovo hardware. (diagnosing, resolving issues, desk-side and ticketing) ServiceNow Experience:
Familiarity with ticketing systems, particularly ServiceNow. Mobility:
Some experience with mobile support is a plus, though not a primary focus. Key Responsibilities: Desktop Support:
Provide hands-on support for desktop systems, including Windows 11 and Office 365, ensuring quick resolution of issues. Conference Room Technology:
Manage conference room equipment, primarily utilizing Microsoft Teams very small part of this role Troubleshooting:
Handle refresh builds, break/fix scenarios, and ticket overloads using ServiceNow for efficient ticketing and issue tracking. Collaboration:
Work closely with team members and report to direct manager to manage workflow and ensure high-quality service delivery. Experience working in lab environments nice to have understanding of lab support needs Proficiency with
ServiceNow
or similar ITSM platforms Excellent end-user support and troubleshooting skills Knowledge of basic networking principles and infrastructure Ability to work independently and manage tasks without daily supervision Strong communication and remote collaboration skills Experience in consumer products or healthcare environments is a plus What You’ll Do (Skills Used in this Position) Build and refresh PCs as needed for lab and office environments Support two distinct offices and user environments: Canton : Traditional lab setup supporting commercial products Concord : Human Factors usability testing Provide daily on-site support at
Canton
office Visit approximately 1–2 times/month Troubleshoot user and system issues including hardware, software, and networking Assist with
data migrations , refresh cycles, and end-user troubleshooting Collaborate remotely with Nicholas and the broader U.S. IT team Participate in weekly 1:1s with direct manager r direction and feedback Engage with approximately
120 users in Canton
and
20–25 users in Concord Compensation Information The expected salary range for this position $30 - $40/hr , depending on experience and qualifications. This role also qualifies for comprehensive benefits such as health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off. TalentFish is committed to pay for transparency and equal opportunity.
