Job Title: Mainframe Developer
Location: Columbus, OH (Hybrid)
Employment Type: W2 Only
Duration: 12+ Months
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced
Mainframe Developer
to design, develop, and maintain mission-critical applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in
COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and IMS , along with experience in modernizing legacy systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain COBOL, PL/I, and Assembler programs Design and optimize JCL for batch processing Implement CICS applications with VSAM and DB2 integration Write and optimize DB2 SQL queries and stored procedures Use File-AID for file and DB2 data management Work with ISPF commands and utilities for mainframe operations Support mainframe modernization efforts (migration to Java/Microservices) Collaborate on Enterprise and System Architecture design Troubleshoot and debug mainframe applications Ensure compliance with security and performance standards
Required Skills & Qualifications:
12+ years of hands-on Mainframe development experience Strong expertise in: COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, IMS PL/I and Assembler VSAM file handling Experience with: ENDEVOR or similar version control tools File-AID for data management Mainframe-to-Open-System migration (Java/Microservices) Knowledge of: Enterprise and System Architecture Design methodologies ISPF commands and utilities
Nice-to-Have Skills:
Experience with Agile methodologies Knowledge of cloud integration Familiarity with DevOps practices for mainframe
