The primary purpose of the DevOps Engineer V position is to deliver a great consumer experience online through the development of software and maintenance of the mission-critical ADUSA eCommerce core platform. The role drives Azure cloud adoption and enables our engineering teams. With expert skills, this engineer will lead complex projects, establish and optimize cloud infrastructure, ensure automation, scalability, and cost-efficiency, and promote best practices in monitoring and operations. They will collaborate with stakeholders to define and execute cloud adoption roadmaps, foster innovation, and guide teams in implementing robust cloud solutions. Work Schedule & Requirements
Flexible/hybrid work schedule: 3 days in Chicago office, 2 remote days. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. full-time. Duties & Responsibilities Develop vision and set technology strategies to grow the business. Design end-to-end solutions using Azure cloud technologies. Develop, test, deploy, and optimize Azure IaaS/PaaS IAC code and configuration management code. Maintain a secure and well-managed Azure environment. Translate requirements into technical designs utilizing Azure and other technologies. Partner with development teams for scalable, reliable, and resilient software in the cloud. Champion high availability and eliminate single points of failure. Implement logging, monitoring, alerting, and observability for high-availability infrastructure. Provide technical guidance and review engineering designs. Develop proof-of-concept projects to validate approaches. Translate complex requirements into scalable, resilient architecture. Identify business needs and advise on technical directions. Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend innovations. Make informed business decisions on technology implementation. Influence management decisions and facilitate cross-team communication. Mentor and develop team members in modern technologies.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience. 10+ years in Software Engineering or DevOps. Expertise in Azure AKS, Azure APIM, Azure compute/storage/networking, Azure DevOps, GitHub actions, Docker, Elastic Search, PostgreSQL, Azure Cosmos DB, Kafka. Proven experience designing and implementing complex Azure cloud projects. Experience modernizing legacy applications in Azure. Strong knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools.
Preferred Qualifications
Azure Solutions Architect Expert Certification. Azure DevOps Engineer Expert Certification. GitHub Certifications. Ability to navigate a fast-changing technological landscape. Innovative problem-solver and effective communicator. Experience with Jira, Agile methodologies, and retail industry.
