Description SUMMARY The Business Banking Relationship Manager is responsible for new business development and client management for the Bank’s most significant and complex business, institutional, banking relationships. Business Banking Relationship Managers also work with the Bank’s Commercial Lending Team to meet the needs of our commercial clients. About the role You will be responsible for new business development in the verticals the Bank targets: commercial real estate investors, property managers, nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, professional services firms, life sciences, and technology companies. You will also manage a portfolio of existing relationships with key clients and their staff. As the key point of contact for these customers, you will manage the full range of their deposit banking needs, coordinate service requests and cross-sell new products by partnering with our Treasury Management Officer. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Business Development: You will develop new relationships through a self-sourced portfolio, with a strong focus on property management, commercial real estate, non-profits, educational institutions, professional service firms, life sciences, and technology companies. Manage Existing Relationships: You will serve as the primary banker for a portfolio of some of the Bank's most significant business, institutional, not for profit consumer banking relationships for these clients. You'll be responsible for coordinating their needs within the Bank, opening and closing accounts as necessary, and handling their banking needs relative to products and services. You'll also be responsible for identifying opportunities to deepen our relationships with these clients through our Residential and Commercial Lending Groups. As an experienced Relationship Manager, you may be asked to train and mentor staff. Also, serves as an expert within its function. Actively promotes the interest of the bank by participating in community and professional organizations. Participates in community and not-for-profit events representing the bank. Adheres to audit, compliance, and regulatory policies and procedures and completes annual training as assigned. Participates in pertinent projects as assigned. Performs any function necessary, within the scope of authority and expertise, as assigned. Completes all internal Bank training as assigned and required. Adheres to the Bank’s privacy and data security policies including but not limited to safeguarding of sensitive information and complying with relevant regulations to protect non-public information. Exhibits the ability and desire to embrace and enhance the Bank culture. REQUIREMENTS Successful candidates should have a strong record of business development or relationship management in a business banking, private banking or cash management role. High ethical standards. Strong analytic skills with an ability to translate business plans and goals. An ability to effortlessly build relationships with trust and respect. Strong self-management/drive and a meticulous approach to organization. Ability to prioritize and differentiate between what’s needed versus what’s wanted. Be adept at handling multiple competing priorities and duties in a fast-paced, results-oriented, and rapidly changing environment. Comfortable with implementing Structure. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent plus specialized course work and training. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Database, and PowerPoint. Proficient organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple, overlapping, and potentially conflicting priorities. Possess proficient analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong written and presentation skills. Extreme attention to detail. Excellent organizational skills. Acumen for problem-solving. SKILLS Basic knowledge of the banking and financial services industry including federal laws and regulations. Willingness to gain new knowledge and technical skills. Intermediate typing skills to meet the production needs of the position. Intermediate math skills: the ability to calculate interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio, and percent, including the drafting and interpretation of bar graphs. Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, train personnel, read, analyze, and interpret documents and professional journals, understand procedures, write reports, correspondence, and procedures, speak clearly to customers and employees.
