Director of Accounting Northern Virginia – 5 days a week on-site A leading enterprise technology company in Northern Virginia is looking to hire a
Director of Corporate Accounting
to lead day-to-day operations of their global accounting function. This is a highly visible role with ownership over close and consolidations, internal controls, audit, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment with evolving systems and global complexity. This role offers a unique opportunity to make your mark under new executive leadership and mentor a stable, high-performing team. Key Responsibilities Lead global monthly and quarterly close and consolidation across U.S. and international entities Oversee and review journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger accuracy Own the relationship with external auditors and serve as main audit POC Partner with Finance, Legal, Operations, and other teams to ensure reporting accuracy Maintain and enhance internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) Drive continuous improvements to ERP (NetSuite) processes and team workflows Supervise and mentor a team of 9, with plans to grow headcount Prepare internal reports and assist in key initiatives for senior leadership and board visibility What We’re Looking For 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including recent leadership roles Strong knowledge of US GAAP (IFRS a plus), with experience overseeing consolidations across multiple entities Previous background in the software or tech sector strongly preferred CPA required or in progress; public accounting foundation is a bonus Ability to roll up your sleeves while also thinking strategically Strong communication and project management skills Seniority level
