The Transmission Lines Engineering (TLE) Overhead and Underground Designer and Doc Control will be assisting lead designers in reviewing all Issue For Records (IFR) packages from vendors and importing them to internal systems, updating Transmission records, and retaining records for Transmission Overhead (TOH) and or Transmission Underground (TUG) teams by scanning all historical Transmission drawings and records and retaining them in internal systems. The designer will assist in developing TLE Document Control specific processes and associated procedures ensuring documents and changes comply with established requirements of TLE department. They will assist is transferring design models to AutoCAD drawings. They will work under supervision to assist TOH TUG designers. Skills in PLS-CADD, modeling Transmission Lines structures, or Transmission Underground designs are a plus. Position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies. Primary Duties Assists experienced engineers in performing well-defined engineering assignments exercising independent discretion; (e.g. Collect data, perform analysis, interpret results, & draw conclusions) Assists in the performance of complex engineering assignments.(e.g. Analyze and interpret the results of power flows and perform electrical tests, and analyze non-specific and ambiguous results) Assists with technical consultation, plan developments and recommendations for customer and company systems and processes; (e.g. Verify and validate studies, blueprints, or designs against accepted engineering principles and practices) Evaluates effectiveness of current technical systems and processes. Participates on teams; (e.g. Design high voltage transmission and distribution circuits, meeting all engineering standards and criteria) Job Scope Provides technical assistance in support of others. Applies technical knowledge to help promote a safe work environment and to enhance customer satisfaction. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a technical field (non-engineer) (1) or equivalent relevant education / experience (See Section Below) (2) AND 0-2 years field experience in engineering, construction, or applicable utility experience (1) Examples of technical fields (non-engineer) include Engineering Technology, Electronics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, etc. (2) Relevant education / experience is knowledge and skills that may be acquired through job experiences or education programs related to those acquired through a formal technical degree program. Examples include experience gained in a military role applicable to electric power distribution, completion of a journey-level electrician program (e.g., overhead / underground electrician, electrical mechanic), or completion of a company-sponsored technical education program (e.g., Elements of Electrical Engineering (E3) series). The equivalent relevant education / experience is in addition to the position's minimum experience requirements. Ability to analyze and interpret electrical and mechanical systems. Knowledge and ability to apply problem-solving approaches. Knowledge of construction, operations or engineering principles and practices. Limited knowledge and experience with regulations, guides, standards, codes, methods, and practices necessary to perform routine assignments for a specific discipline installations, or service. 1-3 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree Preferred Qualifications Transmission Line Engineering design experience preferred Read the full posting.
