is actively seeking a
Systems & Integration Lab Engineer
to support cutting-edge defense technology programs in
Sterling Heights, MI . This is a full-time, on-site opportunity for engineers with strong experience in
hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing ,
mechatronics integration , and
electronic systems troubleshooting . Position Overview: You will play a hands-on role in designing, maintaining, and supporting advanced systems integration labs that combine electronic hardware, embedded software, and simulation tools at both the component and platform level. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented engineers who thrive in lab environments and are eager to solve complex system challenges across hardware and software layers.
Key Responsibilities: Design and maintain test lab environments for vehicle systems integration and HIL simulation Build and troubleshoot electronic cabling and test harnesses Integrate hardware and software components for vehicle-level testing Support embedded system validation and simulation-based testing Collaborate with on-site and remote engineering teams to support real-time test operations Implement and debug scripting tools (Python, Bash, NI TestStand) to automate testing Document lab configurations and contribute to system-level test planning Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (e.g., Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering) Minimum
4 years of experience
in systems integration, embedded testing, or mechatronic lab environments Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems Strong cable troubleshooting, building, and repair skills Hands-on experience with scripting languages such as
Python ,
BASH , or
NI TestStand Familiarity with simulation models and lab emulation tools Understanding of network principles (VLANs, switch configuration) Experience debugging complex electro-mechanical systems Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with
CAN ,
MIL-STD-1553 , and Ethernet protocols Familiarity with
Wireshark ,
Windows Event Logs , or NI TestStand Experience with C/C++ in embedded system environments Knowledge of system-level use case testing Secret clearance or eligibility highly preferred
