We are seeking an experienced

Senior Java Architect

to join a long-term project based in Albany, NY. The selected consultant will work under the direction of designated management teams to design and develop enterprise-level Java applications, adhering to established frameworks and security standards. This is a fully onsite position with a projected duration of four years. Responsibilities: Adhere to enterprise Java frameworks, design patterns, and coding standards for building user interfaces and system architecture Conduct system analysis to identify enhancements that improve system performance and scalability Develop and execute test plans; perform debugging and unit/integration testing Work closely with users and business analysts to understand functional requirements and provide viable technical solutions Prepare technical documentation and deployment scripts Provide consistent status updates to technical management teams Ensure secure coding practices and participate in application security testing Perform code reviews and provide technical feedback to development teams Identify, prioritize, and coordinate fixes for system defects and production issues Mentor junior developers and assist with knowledge transfer across teams Contribute to reporting and data analytics initiatives Document all application architecture and integration work for current and future use Minimum Qualifications: 5+ years

of experience developing and implementing Java J2SE/EE applications in a

WebSphere environment 5+ years

as a

software/solutions architect

for Java J2SE/EE-based WebSphere systems 5+ years

using

Agile

software development methodologies 3+ years

working with

Apache Wicket

in a production environment 1+ year

experience with

Angular

in a production setting 3+ years

integrating

FileNet

for document storage and retrieval using web services 2+ years

implementing

SOAP-based web services

using Apache CXF or JAX-WS 5+ years

of hands-on experience with

Spring and Hibernate

frameworks 5+ years

mentoring junior Java developers 5+ years

using

Apache Struts

in Java application development Additional experience beyond 5 years developing Java applications in WebSphere is highly desirable 1+ year

using

for source code management and deployment
