Responsibilities • Performs structure design and plan production using knowledge of MicroStation. • Works with other engineering disciplines and professionals in the coordination of the project under the direction of a senior engineer/designer. • Assists with engineering/drafting duties on projects of various complexity. • Analyzes data and compiles information to support design decisions. • Assists in basic interpretation and verifying compliance with DOT standards, guidelines, and specifications and ensure that design and contract documents adhere to these regulations. • Performs other duties as assigned by the senior engineering staff. * Other related duties may be assigned as appropriate.
Education and Experience Requirements • 0-5 years of civil engineering experience using a drafting program required. • Experience working with state and county infrastructure improvement projects desired. • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of Microstation Inroads/Geopak and OpenRoads desired. • Knowledge in job cost, scheduling, safety, and construction concepts preferred. • US Citizen or Legal Resident required.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This position involves primarily office-based computer work (up to 8 hours per day) with occasional standing and walking. Employees may need to lift up to 20 pounds and should be able to visually and audibly perceive important design details. Clear communication, adaptability to change, and extended periods of seated work are part of this role.
Expected Hours of Work
Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a 1-hour unpaid lunch.
