West Monroe is looking for a Software Architect (Consultant) to join our Tech Transaction Services (TTS) Practice, focusing on technology/software M&A due diligence projects. The architect will collaborate with other TTS consultants (Cloud, Cyber, etc.) and executive client stakeholders to lead tech assessments and advisory across various industries, including Private Equity, High-Tech & Software, Healthcare, and Financial Services. As a technology-agnostic firm, you'll have the opportunity to expand your skillset working with cutting-edge tools, platforms, and frameworks. This role involves leading strategic software environment and product due diligences, post-merger integrations, and carve-out advisory engagements.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Transaction Services consultants from other areas (e.g., Cloud, Cybersecurity) to support client M&A activities, analyzing existing technology systems, software applications, team operations, and business processes.
- Assess the software/technology landscape within enterprises to advise strategic investors on improving market readiness, scalability, and operational costs.
- Analyze layered software application/architecture stacks down to the code level.
- Evaluate SDLC processes, risks, project management methodologies, security, and maturity levels.
- Develop strategic investment summaries, risk mitigation analyses, and long-term technology strategies for pre- and post-close projects.
- Link business strategy with technology to deliver impactful outcomes.
- Stay updated on technology trends and their applications, helping clients understand innovative and disruptive solutions.
- Support business development by identifying opportunities and liaising with client leads and account managers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Consulting or industry experience preferred.
- 6-11+ years in enterprise-level software development/architecture, with experience in stacks like Microsoft .Net, Java/J2EE, JavaScript frameworks, Python, Ruby, AWS, etc.
- Strong knowledge of modern software design concepts such as microservices, SOA, TDD, etc.
- Familiarity with software architectural patterns and tradeoffs.
- Experience with business systems integration, migrations, and object-oriented design.
- Knowledge of application security, secure coding, DevSecOps, and secure SDLC.
- Experience leading technical engagements, proposals, and project management.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments with a sense of urgency.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Willingness to travel for client engagements.
Salary & Benefits
The salary range varies based on location, experience, and other factors. For example, in Seattle or D.C., it is $205,900—$234,500 USD, while in Los Angeles, it is $211,000—$245,600 USD, and in NYC or SF, $218,300—$256,800 USD. Other locations have different ranges.
