Basic Purpose: The Digital Delivery team develops innovative member and team member experiences leveraging the latest open source technologies and Azure cloud. The team is responsible for engineering modern web applications, implementing complete UI and microservices for multi-device, multi-platform mobile and desktop web applications. As a member of this team, your role as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) will involve testing software applications and features using test suites and scripts, reporting anomalies, analyzing software, developing automated test packages, and performing functional and performance testing. Additionally, the SDET provides support for existing software applications, including issue analysis and resolution, configuration, security management, and user assistance. The role involves collaboration primarily with the ISD Cloud team at Navy Federal. Responsibilities
Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot and resolve automation issues in testing and deployment environments. Work alongside developers and stakeholders to automate acceptance criteria. Implement agile development methodologies within a Scrum environment. Create and execute test cases based on project documents, customer demands, and product objectives. Test complex API, web, and mobile applications referencing database back-end systems. Support non-functional requirements such as performance testing. Set up, maintain, and execute test automation frameworks across multiple platforms (Mobile, Desktop, Web), including building test scenarios and acceptance tests. Participate in all agile ceremonies (standups, planning, backlog refinement, reviews) to ensure QA and testing are integrated into all project phases. Develop end-to-end test strategies, analyze requirements, build test plans, design test cases, and implement automation for complex applications. Manage the final quality assurance for production releases. Develop, execute, and maintain automation test scripts to meet release and project requirements. Create and run manual test cases when automation cannot detect issues. Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as an SDET and/or in software development. At least 2 years of experience in mobile app automation testing (Android/iOS), web, and API testing. Over 4 years of experience in software test automation, including framework creation and maintenance. At least 2 years of API automation testing experience. Experience with agile development methodologies. Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, JUnit, Selenium, Cucumber. Knowledge of TDD, BDD, and Agile (XP) practices. Experience with test frameworks and tools like Java, JUnit/TestNG, Selenium, JMeter, and Appium. Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Jira. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure. Proficiency in Selenium scripting, SQL querying, and cloud testing platforms like Perfecto. Strong debugging skills, proficiency in Java, and experience in writing functional automation for UI and API testing. Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and analytical problem-solving skills. Knowledge of pull requests, code reviews, and version control processes.
