PathAI is on a mission to improve patient outcomes with AI-powered pathology. We are transforming traditional pathology methods into powerful, new technologies. These innovations in pathology can help accelerate drug development, improve confidence in the accuracy of diagnosis, and get life-saving therapies to patients more quickly. At PathAI, you'll work with a diverse and talented team of people, who are dedicated to solving complex problems and making a huge impact.
What You’ll Do
Solve complex backend challenges using high-quality code Design, build, maintain, and evolve scalable backend services and APIs (e.g., FastAPI, Django REST) Define and own the architecture of large components and platforms Collaborate closely with ML, product, frontend, and infrastructure teams to deliver end-to-end systems Maintain excellence in testing, CI/CD, and code reviews Mentor senior and mid-level engineers, promoting best practices Contribute to software regulated as medical devices, ensuring quality and compliance
What You’ll Need
Bachelor’s degree in CS or equivalent experience 5+ years in backend development (full lifecycle delivery) Strong experience with FastAPI and/or Django REST framework Solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, and system design Experience with cloud-native systems (AWS preferred), containerization, and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) Proficiency with CI/CD platforms (e.g., GitLab CI, Docker pipelines)
