We are seeking a full-time
Senior Software Engineer Map Technology
in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be dedicated to creating innovative mapping solutions for outdoor and fitness enthusiasts. Your responsibilities will include the design, development, and optimization of routing algorithms for cycling, running, and automotive maps. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate routing solutions and real-time data such as traffic and road conditions into our mapping products. Essential Functions Serve in a technical leadership capacity for software development in C++, C#, or other selected languages for new products and applications. May serve as a Lead Software Engineer for complex projects. Design and review architected modules supporting new technology or enhancing existing functionality. Provide solutions to difficult problems using sound problem-solving techniques. Research fundamental problems and implement algorithmic solutions. Offer peer technical assessments and evaluate new technologies. Work with vendors to integrate external deliverables. Participate in project planning and contribute to product development strategies. Mentor less experienced engineers and suggest process improvements. Review technical documentation for accuracy and participate in feature analysis and system tradeoffs.
Basic Qualifications Bachelors Degree in a related field with at least 5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination. Strong academic record (GPA ? 3.0). Proficiency in designing software systems and modules supporting new technology or improving existing capabilities. Experience in researching problems and implementing algorithms. Ability to lead software projects. Skill in decomposing requirements into tasks and balancing work quality and complexity. Proficiency in C++ programming. Experience with real-time navigation systems and dynamic routing. Knowledge of graph theory, optimization techniques, data structures, and object-oriented design. Excellent communication skills for articulating complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Desired Qualifications
GPA ? 3.5. Experience with GIS and mapping technologies. Knowledge of machine learning applications in routing. Experience in cycling, running, or automotive industries.
