Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Global Siri Cupertino, California, United States | Machine Learning and AI Description We are seeking a passionate Senior Machine Learning Engineer / Tech Lead to collaborate across teams within Siri and Apple. Your role will involve designing, building, and deploying top-tier machine learning systems that enhance Siri's service to users. You will focus on improving the accuracy, speed, reliability, and capabilities of Global Siri's models and systems. We value full-stack machine learning engineers with strong research, software engineering, and leadership skills. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about creating outstanding products and leveraging a broad skill set to drive technical and organizational progress. You should be well-versed in the latest ML research, including LLMs and NLP, capable of engaging with all parts of the ML stack to solve user-facing issues, and comfortable working with product metrics alongside cross-functional teams. Experience with server-based and on-device models is a plus. Effective communication of complex ideas to diverse audiences is essential. Minimum Qualifications 5+ years in developing, deploying, and measuring industry-scale ML software, especially in large-scale NLU systems Experience as a senior engineer, tech lead, or engineering manager, including mentoring and cross-functional communication Expertise in Large Language Models (LLMs) or foundation models, demonstrated through publications or product features Strong background in machine learning, deep learning, and foundation models with proven development success Deep understanding of ML fundamentals such as classification, feature engineering, and ranking Proficiency in programming languages (Java, C++, Objective-C, Swift, Python, Ruby, bash) and ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, CoreML) Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills Experience with data science, analytics, and large-scale data environments Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines Experience with large-scale data tools (MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark) is beneficial iOS ecosystem experience (Swift, Objective-C, CoreML, SiriKit) is a plus Preferred Qualifications Experience in localization, internationalization, machine translation, or language tech At Apple, compensation includes base salary, stock options, benefits, and more, with ranges based on experience and location.
