We seek a Senior Electrical Engineer for our Optical Sensor System team in Acton, MA. This role involves serving as an authority in engineering, conceptualizing innovative solutions to complex problems, leading planning and oversight, representing the company nationally, and attracting engineering talent. The position requires anticipating future engineering challenges impacting organizational objectives. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead space electronics design and analyze performance, size, weight, power, and cost for satellite payloads. Design electronics systems ensuring requirements and electrical flowdowns are met. Familiarize with modeling tools for optical payload co-design. Assist in developing imaging technologies for future space systems. Generate electrical specifications for subcontractors and cable manufacturers. Manage electrical assemblies, including subcontractors, design for manufacturing and testing, and support manufacturing debugging. Coordinate with internal and external technical personnel. Provide leadership and guidance in engineering research and problem-solving. Plan and oversee the implementation of engineering solutions and resources. Prepare reports, ensure compliance, and maintain safety standards. Represent the organization’s technical capabilities publicly. Support talent attraction and retention efforts. Mentor staff and transfer technical knowledge. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Perform additional duties as assigned and ensure compliance with laws and safety procedures. Job Qualifications Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in engineering or related field; 13+ years (PhD), 16+ (Master’s), 18+ (Bachelor’s) years of experience. Equivalent experience may substitute for education. Proven leadership in solving complex engineering problems and attracting business and talent. Ability to guide technical resolutions and develop new concepts. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, customer-focused, able to work independently or in teams. Willingness to work extended hours and travel. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance. Salary range: $128,130 - $229,358. Job type: Full-Time, Mid-Senior level.
