We seek a Senior Machine Learning Engineer / Tech Lead passionate about collaborating across teams in Siri and Apple to design, build, and deploy world-class machine learning systems that serve our users effectively. You will work on enhancing the accuracy, speed, reliability, and capabilities of Global Siri’s models and systems. We value full-stack machine learning engineers with strong research, software engineering, and leadership skills.

The ideal candidate is passionate about building outstanding products, leveraging a broad skill set to advance our technology and organization. Familiarity with the latest in ML research, LLMs, NLP, and experience across the full engineering stack is essential. Software engineering experience with server-based and on-device models is a plus. Excellent communication skills to articulate complex ideas to diverse stakeholders across Siri and Apple are crucial.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years developing, shipping, and measuring industry-scale ML software systems; experience with large-scale NLU systems is a strong asset.
• Experience as a senior engineer, tech lead, or engineering manager in ML products, including mentoring, collaboration with product managers, and communicating metrics and challenges.
• Expertise in Large Language Models (LLMs) or foundation models, demonstrated through publications or product features.
• Strong background in machine learning, deep learning, and foundation models, with proven development in commercial systems.
• Fundamental understanding of ML topics such as classification, feature engineering, information extraction, and ranking.
• Proficiency in object-oriented languages (e.g., Java, C++, Swift), scripting languages (e.g., Python), and ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, CoreML).
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively across teams and communicate with leadership.
• Experience in data science, analytics, A/B testing, and large-scale data investigations.
• Ability to handle multiple projects under strict deadlines.
• Experience with large-scale data tools (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and iOS ecosystem (e.g., Swift, CoreML) is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in localization, internationalization, machine translation, or language technologies.
