Minimum of 5 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 3 years with MS/MA Clearance:
Active Secret DoD Clearance Skills and Experience: Ability to read and understand technical documents and drawings, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and priorities Understanding of system software interfaces, requirements, and interoperability with other systems Experience with embedded programming languages and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools Knowledge of Agile software development methodology Desired Qualifications: Experience working in a DoD acquisition project management office Experience in software or systems design for DoD systems Position Details: Peraton is hiring a Systems-Software Engineer in Huntsville, AL. This is a full-time onsite role supporting the Aircraft Survivability Equipment (ASE) program, focusing on missile detection and evasion technology. The engineer will support high-visibility programs, working across several projects as a system/software SME. Responsibilities: Provide software support for all ASE products, including requirements, interfaces, development, architecture, testing, and sustainment Understand system interfaces and ensure external systems interoperability Collaborate with vendors on Agile software planning Review vendor software documentation and artifacts such as Software Development Plans, requirements, and test plans Support design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) as a SW SME Test and verify system interoperability Understand and analyze software requirements and user needs Work with vendors to understand capabilities and performance requirements Assess software impacts on system use and installation Support software and product teams overall Assist with software growth initiatives (FACE, MOSA, MBSE)
