We are responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all technology & digital-led initiatives across various lines of business, including Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation, Merchandise, as well as initiatives like MyDisneyExperience and Hey, Disney! This role is within the Parks Commercial Platforms organization in Technology & Digital for Disney Experiences. It collaborates closely with Product, Business, Finance, and other teams across the company. The Senior Software Engineer will report to the Manager - Technology. About The Role & Team:
The Senior Software Engineer will work on the latest technology to build new features and improve existing components of Disney Commerce Payment Platform, specializing in Cart and Checkout. What Youll Do:
Lead small projects involving analysis, design, programming, debugging, and modification of software used in local, networked, cloud-based, or Internet-related programs. Perform testing and debugging of applications. Develop code for commercial and end-user applications or supporting infrastructure and platforms. Code at the component level, often involving large or sophisticated systems. Maintain a strong understanding of current programming languages and technologies, with skills in writing and completing programming tasks. Interact with product teams to define system requirements and necessary modifications. Design, develop, test, and implement software components, fixes, improvements, and new systems. Design and develop highly scalable software systems and applications. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies. Required Qualifications & Skills:
Minimum 5 years of related work experience. Comfortable working in an agile environment. Ability to thrive in fast-paced software delivery and product launch environments. Foundational knowledge of Computer Science. Hands-on experience with Design Patterns such as Singleton, Factory, Observer, Builder, Adapter, Publisher/Subscriber, Decorator. Hands-on knowledge of Data Structures like Lists, Sets, Maps, Linked Lists, Queues, Stacks; familiarity with BST, Trees, Graphs is preferred. Strong problem-solving skills with experience in algorithms, understanding Big O notation, and coding efficiently. Proactive in continuous learning and interested in emerging data engineering tools and methodologies. Preferred Qualifications:
Over 5 years' experience in Web UI development. Hands-on experience with modern JavaScript frameworks like Angular, Node.js, jQuery. Experience creating dynamic, mobile-friendly web apps compatible across browsers and platforms. Utilizing RESTful Web Services. Experience with Jenkins, GIT, TDD, and unit testing. Familiarity with web components, UI optimization, performance tuning, UI Automation, and Mobile Web Views. Experience with AWS services such as EC2, ECS, Elastic Search, Lambdas, DynamoDB, MariaDB/MySQL, Kinesis. Required Education:
Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or comparable field, or equivalent work experience. The hiring range in Seattle is $145,500-$170,500 annually, with actual offers depending on various factors. Compensation may include bonuses, incentives, and benefits. Additional Details:
