Overview
This role is responsible for solution design, configuration, implementation, security, compliance, and monitoring of the Point-of-Sale (POS) applications in Retail stores. This person will act as a liaison between business and technical stakeholders to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for changes to an enterprise class POS System. The ideal candidate is a programming specialist with deep functional domain knowledge who differentiates themself from a Software Development Engineer primarily by bringing a passion for and capability in business systems analysis with strong information engineering and software programming skills to deliver IT solutions.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead Retail Systems projects and initiatives and drive them to a successful implementation. Provide technical, analytical, functional, and business domain expertise on POS Solutions. Troubleshoot problems using Splunk and database queries. Manage security reviews and processes as liaison to Security and Compliance teams. Leverage and Debug existing tools and scripts utilizing PowerShell, SQL and XML. Manage and maintain documentation central to change control process and operational effectiveness. Design, Create and Deploy data validation and monitoring against Test and Production POS Systems. Qualifications
2+ years in planning and execution of medium to large software implementations. 2+ years of technology implementation work ideally with POS for a Tier 1 Retailer. 2+ years in a Software Development Lifecycle Proven analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate results to different audiences and leadership levels. Experience in working with retail engineering teams as well as retail support principles and practices. Strong SQL and XML skills. Splunk and PowerShell experience a plus. Experience working in AWS is a plus: DynamoDB, SSM Parameter Store and S3 Strong organization, time management and problem-solving skills. Passion, understanding and appreciation of retail operations and customer service. An open, sharing approach to working with team members, business partners and peers. Self-motivated and possess an elevated level of personal accountability. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time with an expected 0-5%. Education & Experience:
BA/BS degree and 2-3 years relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
