Our client, a leading engineering design consulting company, is looking to hire a Mechanical Designer/Drafter in Saint Paul, MN.Pay Rate Range: $27 - $37 per hour, depending on experienceRequirements: Strong 3D CAD experience in either Solidworks, Inventor, and/or Pro-E ***Must be able to pass a CAD test in Autodesk Inventor*** Ansys FEA experience preferred, but not required Experience designing and engineering metal framework, weldments, sheetmetal, hydraulics, pneumatics, etc Heavy off road equipment experience a plusSkills & Qualifications: AAS or BSME preferred Inventor CAD, Solidworks, and/or Pro-E Creo experience preferred Experience with heavy off road equipment, oil processing equipment, or mobile equipment preferredResponsibilities: Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or Pro-E Creo. Create detailed engineering drawings and bills of materials for manufacturing and assembly purposes. Engineer structural frameworks, weldments, and sheet metal components for heavy-duty equipment applications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, procurement, and field service to ensure design feasibility and efficiency. Support the integration of hydraulic and pneumatic systems into product designs. Conduct basic structural and stress analysis; support FEA analysis in Ansys as needed. Participate in design reviews, prototype evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure designs meet performance, quality, and safety standards applicable to off-road and mobile equipment. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving design issues during prototyping and production stages.
