Highmark Inc. Job Description: JOB SUMMARY This role is dedicated to innovating and engineering enterprise-grade data solutions. You will collaborate with business, analytic, and IT stakeholders to design solutions that enable effective data access for operational and analytical purposes. Key responsibilities include coding data ingestion pipelines and creating transformation processes to ensure clean and usable data delivery. You will work alongside engineers, architects, analysts, data scientists, and non-technical stakeholders to maintain and enhance data products that support strategic initiatives across the organization. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and maintain well-engineered data solutions across various environments, including traditional data warehouses and cloud platforms. Create high-performance systems for operational and analytical applications.
Engage with internal and external platforms to ensure aligned data sourcing, flow, and structure. Partner with business stakeholders to integrate and support operational and analytical platforms.
Design, code, test, implement, and maintain scalable data engineering frameworks to support diverse systems and services.
Ensure alignment with security, data governance, and quality standards by managing metadata, driving data quality initiatives, and applying relevant business rules.
Develop, optimize, and maintain machine learning and AI engineering processes, especially those deployed in cloud or big data environments.
Lead multiple projects with autonomy while mentoring Intermediate and Junior team members. Build and maintain strong customer relationships, participating in discussions independently as needed.
Establish best practices for data ingestion, transformation, and delivery, staying updated on emerging Big Data technologies to recommend appropriate tools.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
EDUCATION Required Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field. Substitutions None Preferred Master's Degree in Software Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field. EXPERIENCE Required 5 years of experience in data platform development, data engineering, software development, or data science. 3 years of experience with Big Data or cloud data platforms. Preferred 3 years of experience in the healthcare industry. 3 years of experience in data warehousing. 3 years of experience in database administration. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS Required None Preferred Cloud certification (GCP, Azure, AWS). SKILLS Proficient in SQL. Experience in data warehousing. Strong problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication skills. Analytical skills. Experience with Spark, Python, or related tools. Familiarity with cloud technologies. Language (Other than English):
