Job Description Alabama State University, Office of the Provost, invites applications to fill the position of Director of Grant Management and Projects. A major function of this position will be to assist with the management of funded projects as assigned by the Provost as well as assist with academic operations and special initiatives. The selected candidate will work to identify funding opportunities, partnerships and collaborative efforts to expand the research footprint of the institution and to enhance the academy.
Duties and Responsibilities: Assist the Office of Academic Affairs with managing funded proposal and seeking new funding opportunities Assist with the development and writing of grant proposals to government, foundations, and other funding organizations Design and implement effective workflow processes and procedures for he Office of Academic Affairs Serve as the liaison between the Office of Academic Affairs and external partners Act as the project manager and coordinator for all grant submissions from the Office of Academic Affairs Assist in research, data collection, and analysis related to academic initiatives Coordinate special projects as assigned Assist in project assessment and strategic planning for the Office of Academic Affairs Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications Master's degree, in communications, marketing or public relations, at least 3 years of professional grant management/development experience, database management experience to include entering and maintaining date, building and running reports, developing process improvements, and back end database development, and have a successful track record of securing and/or managing local, state, federal, and/or foundation funds. Relevant work experience will also be considered in lieu of the degree requirements.
Other Required Skills and knowledge: Knowledge of advanced computer operations (Microsoft Office Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel and Publisher) and ability to learn company grant software Excellent organizational skills and be able to produce a quality work product within tight time constraints Excellent written, and oral communications skills Demonstrated organizational skill and be able to product a quality work product within tight time constraints Be a team-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills
