Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Principal Computer Hardware Engineer/Sr. Principal Computer Hardware Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in defining the future. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL. This position may be filled by either at the Principal Computer Hardware Engineer level OR at the Sr. Principal Computer Hardware Engineer level based on the qualifications listed. Essential Functions: Experience in COTS hardware and BSP designs, estimating application performance within the constructs of the hardware and methods of measuring application performance Design and develop computer, network, and storage architecture, perform hardware integration and testing, and requirements analysis Experience with trade studies, documenting subsystem architectures, analyzing performance, and evaluating Technology Readiness Level (TRL) with regard to supplier current and future products offerings Experience with developing supplier documentation, performance based specifications, and statements of work Build supplier evaluation criteria and experience in conducting technical evaluations, documenting results and selection Ability to review documents from the supplier's development effort and support supplier technical interchange meetings and design reviews The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels. Principal Computer Hardware Engineer: T03 Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience OR Master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 3 years of experience OR PhD and 1 year of experience Must have an Active, In-Scope, DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher that has been granted / renewed within the past 6 years. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access. Demonstrated knowledge of computer architecture and associated elements: processing hardware, operating systems, board support packages, messaging middleware, networking standards/protocols (e.g. 1553, 1394, Ethernet), and data storage Sr. Principal Computer Hardware Engineer: T04 Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of experience OR Master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 6 years of experience OR PhD and 4 years of experience Must have an Active, In-Scope, DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher that has been granted / renewed within the past 6 years. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access. Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer or Electrical Engineering Demonstrated knowledge of processing hardware, operating systems, board support packages, messaging middleware, networking standards/protocols (e.g. 1553, 1394, Ethernet), and/or data storage Experience with embedded systems, Unix or Linux operating systems, single board computers, networking components, or Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) Experience with integration of COTS electronics into military systems Experience with supplier team management Experience with working on a multidisciplinary team and writing technical proposals Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management Possess a DODD 8570 certifications, such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or similar network/security certifications Salary Range: $0.00 - $0.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
