Maximo administrators manage IBM Maximo Asset Management systems, ensuring smooth operation, configuration, and support.
Education:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Alternatively, 4+ years of relevant work experience may substitute for a degree.
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of experience with Maximo 7.6 or later, including administration, configuration, and maintenance. Expertise in managing multi-site and multi-organization setups in Maximo. Experience with Maximo modules like IBM Control Desk, Maximo Mobile/Anywhere, BIRT, and Cognos reporting. Experience with Documentum and Tibco interfaces. Experience with patching, EAR/WAR file management, and Ifixit. 8+ years of strong experience administering WebSphere Application Server (WAS), including versions 7.x, 8.x, or 9.x, and WebSphere Network Deployment. Experience with WebSphere Portal, IBM HTTP Server, and WebSphere Liberty Profile. Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Familiarity with VMware and Nutanix.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in configuring workflows, security settings, and patch updates. Strong knowledge of SQL and relational database queries. Familiarity with LDAP single sign-on authentication and integration with Active Directory. Ability to create and modify BIRT/Cognos reports and handle data imports/exports. Experience with Maximo Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system administration, including troubleshooting user login, network, and database issues. Strong proficiency in installing, configuring, and maintaining WebSphere environments, including cells, clusters, nodes, and JVMs. Knowledge of JACL, Jython, or other scripting languages for automating WAS administration tasks. Experience with performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting, including analyzing Java heap dumps and managing SSL certificates. Strong JVM tuning for performance and stability, with understanding of Java stack traces. Proficiency in monitoring applications using tools like Dynatrace, Datadog, Evolven, and Splunk. Proficiency in IBM Ifixit deployments.
Other Skills:
Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including Windows and Linux servers, networking, and data processing concepts. Experience with configuration change management and supporting testing, development, and production environments. Ability to work with IT teams to apply patches, manage upgrades, and ensure system reliability. Familiarity with Python, Java, and Jython.
Soft Skills:
Strong communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills to support end users and collaborate with teams. WebSphere administrators manage IBM WebSphere Application Server environments, often supporting applications like Maximo.
