This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in
infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) ,
automation scripting , and
serverless development
using
AWS Lambda . In addition to hands-on engineering, this role requires a solid understanding of
FinOps
principles to manage and optimize AWS spend using
Cost Explorer ,
budgets , and
CloudWatch
monitoring.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure using
Terraform
following GitOps and IaC best practices.
Develop
automation scripts
(Python, Bash, or similar) to streamline infrastructure operations, deployments, and cost reporting.
Create and maintain
AWS Lambda
functions for automation, monitoring, and event-driven workflows.
Partner with finance, DevOps, and product teams to implement
FinOps
strategies and improve cloud cost efficiency.
Configure and monitor
AWS Cost Explorer ,
budgets , and savings plans; analyze spend and recommend optimization opportunities.
Implement and manage monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions using
Amazon CloudWatch
and related services.
Ensure compliance with security and governance policies across all AWS resources.
Participate in cloud reviews, architectural discussions, and performance optimization efforts.
Contribute to documentation, runbooks, and knowledge sharing across teams. Required Skills & Qualifications:
3-5+ years of experience as an AWS Engineer or DevOps Engineer in a cloud-native environment.
Proficiency with
Terraform
for AWS resource provisioning and lifecycle management.
Strong experience in
scripting languages
such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
Hands-on experience with
AWS Lambda , including creation, deployment, and event integration.
Deep understanding of
AWS billing, pricing models , and
FinOps
practices.
Experience using
AWS Cost Explorer , budgets, and tools to manage and report on cloud spend.
Solid knowledge of
CloudWatch , including custom metrics, dashboards, alarms, and logs.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control tools (e.g., Git, GitLab).
Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering and finance stakeholders. We have a 6 month contract to hire position for 2 AWS Engineers focused on Terraform, FinOps, Lambda, AWS Cost Explorer and Cloudwatch.
