We're seeking an
Engineering Manager of R&D
to join our innovative team in
Poestenkill, NY .
In this pivotal role, you'll lead the electrical design of advanced DSI equipment, overseeing projects from concept through certification. Key responsibilities include wiring and control system development, PLC programming, and managing technical documentation and engineering changes.
Leadership & Project Management
Demonstrated ability to lead engineering projects from concept through production, including technical planning, risk management, and design reviews. Strong mentoring and team development skills; proven ability to build high-performing engineering teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical issues to both engineering and non-technical stakeholders. Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a closely related field. 15+ years of engineering experience, including 8+ years in a technical leadership or engineering management role. Proven track record in the design and development of complex electromechanical systems, ideally for laboratory, industrial, or research applications. Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams, including mechanical, electrical, controls, and software disciplines Preferred
Experience with
hydraulic systems , including servo-hydraulic actuators, hydraulic servovalves, and closed-loop fluid power control. Familiarity with
pneumatic systems
used in precision automation or test equipment. Background in the
design of laboratory or scientific instrumentation , especially for materials testing, metrology, or structural dynamics applications. Experience integrating
data acquisition systems
into mechanical test platforms. Experience collaborating with
external vendors , contract manufacturers, or research institutions. Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in a relevant engineering field.
Benefits
The pay range for this position is $150,000 - $170,000 per year depending on experience.

The estimated salary range allows for candidates with various levels of skills and experience to be considered, as well as provides room for growth achieved within the role over time.
