Overview
Design and develop PCB layouts for complex electronic systems, ensuring optimal performance, manufacturability, and cost-efficiency. Collaborate with hardware engineers to develop and refine schematic designs and component selection. Use industry-standard PCB design software (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence, Eagle, or similar) to create and optimize designs. Create and maintain detailed documentation, including design schematics, layout files, and BOM (bill of materials). Work closely with fabrication and assembly teams to ensure the manufacturability of the PCB designs, including selecting appropriate materials and technologies. Perform signal integrity analysis and impedance matching to ensure high-speed designs meet performance requirements. Assist in the development of assembly processes and participate in failure analysis of PCB-related issues. Stay up to date with new PCB technologies, design tools, and industry trends to incorporate best practices into designs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Proven experience in PCB design, including high-speed digital and analog circuit designs. Proficiency with PCB design software such as Altium Designer, Cadence, Eagle, or similar tools. Strong understanding of PCB fabrication, assembly processes, and design for manufacturability (DFM). Knowledge of signal integrity, impedance control, and thermal management techniques. Experience with creating and maintaining detailed documentation (e.g., schematics, layout files, BOM). Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve design and manufacturing issues. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with internal teams and external suppliers. : Experience with FPGA-based designs or power electronics.
