New York We are currently seeking an experienced and highly analytical
Equity Risk Manager
to join our client. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in equities risk management and a deep understanding of both discretionary and systematic strategies. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment alongside investment professionals and senior leadership. Candidates must have L/S Equity portfolio management background. Key Responsibilities: Provide oversight and analysis of risk across discretionary and systematic equity portfolios Collaborate with portfolio managers to enhance portfolio construction and optimisation processes Conduct quantitative analysis, including slippage and performance attribution Develop and maintain risk reporting frameworks tailored to trading strategies and senior management requirements Support the design and implementation of new risk models, tools, and processes Candidate Profile: A minimum of five years of experience in a risk management or portfolio management role with a focus on hedged equity strategies Strong technical knowledge of equities risk, multi-factor portfolio construction, and trading mechanics Proficiency in quantitative/statistical tools and programming languages, ideally Python and SQL Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Strong intellectual curiosity and the ability to independently execute ad hoc analyses and special projects High level of energy, initiative, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines under pressure Outstanding interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, with a proven track record of effective collaboration Unwavering commitment to professional ethics, integrity, and discretion This is a compelling opportunity for a risk professional looking to play a strategic role in a forward-thinking investment firm.
