Responsibilities:
Comtech Systems, Inc. (CSI) is looking for a professional Subject Matter Expert to develop and deliver Cyberspace Operations (CO) training to Department of Defense personnel at the Center for Information Warfare Training (CIWT), Corry Station, Pensacola, FL. Perform duties as Networking (NETW) SME by maintaining the accuracy of the NETW course content, providing content oversight and support to the instructors that teach NETW, developing and delivering new content, and making recommendations for revisions of existing topic area content to the Training Developer to keep pace with innovations and advances in technology. Apply technical area expertise for the development of training material to meet the NETW topic area objectives. Incorporate NETW subject matter knowledge into training materials to meet identified training standards. Incorporate the impact of changing technologies into training materials. Develop tools to assess student knowledge, skills, and abilities to gauge student proficiency in the topic. Review and analyze training materials and recommend changes. Conduct content review based on student evaluations and offer recommendations for training material revisions. Conduct periodic course content review and provide recommendations for training material revisions. Perform task and skill analysis of training requirements to develop learning objectives within training materials. Interact with training developers, curriculum managers, and mission customers to assist with the design and implementation of a total training package. Provide highly technical training in a military training environment consisting of lectures, labs, exercises, and other delivery methods. Assist with developing CO training curriculum (e.g., lecture content, student/instructor guides, tests, exercises, simulations). Requirements:
All candidates must possess strong oral and written communication skills. Candidates shall provide classroom content and instruction that teaches assigned students in the manner described in the course Program of Instruction. Candidates shall conduct practical exercises in a laboratory environment, conduct student study hall periods, and provide tutoring/remedial instruction for up to twenty students per class. All candidates must possess the ability to incorporate/impart technical knowledge into their training delivery. Assess student knowledge, skills, and abilities to gauge student proficiency in topic areas. Develop and deliver instruction via interactive synchronous and asynchronous learning activities. Review and analyze training materials and recommend changes. Applicants must possess the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the level required by each assigned task. Qualifications:
Six (6) years within the last ten (10) years of experience in Cyberspace Operations (CO) Three (3) years of experience in the adult learning environment. Experience in adult learning with an emphasis on providing instruction to large classes. US Military instructor certification or designation is highly desirable (e.g., teaching certificate, certified professional instructor, master training specialist, adjunct faculty certification). Three (3) years of experience in curriculum development Three (4) years of experience in all the following networking-related topics:
Networking Fundamentals Internetworking with TCP/IP OSI Model Network Protocols, WAN/LAN Protocols, Fundamentals, Networking Communication Methods Digital/Telecommunications Convergence, and Network Topologies CISCO technologies
While not all-inclusive, candidates must have advanced knowledge in the following areas:
OSI Model and TCP/IP protocol suite IPV4 and IPV6 Subnetting, Supernetting, and Variable Length Subnet Masking Functionality of common application layer protocols and services to include, but not limited to: DHCP; DNS; FTP; HTTP; TFTP; SNMP Routing and Switching methodologies Network Address Translation Basic Protocol Analysis of IP, TCP, and UDP headers VPNs and VLANs Experience configuring networks with routers and switches, to include VLANs Network traffic flow, and loop avoidance Static routes and dynamic routing protocols to include OSPF Protocol analysis w/ tools such as Wireshark Understanding network attacks and defense Writing router Access Control Lists (ACLs)
Education:
In lieu of the six (6) years of experience within the last ten (10) years in CO, a Bachelor's degree in the field of Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Network Security, or Information Systems Security and four (4) years of experience within the last ten (10) years of experience in CO. Additional experience, educational, or certification recommendations beyond those listed above:
CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and/or CISCO Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
