Summary
We are looking for a
driven and innovative Lead Engineer
to join our
Water Resources
team in
Peoria, Illinois ! From
concept to construction , we tackle
urban storm sewer design, combined sewer separation, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, stormwater systems, and natural stream restoration -all while ensuring
compliance with local, state, and federal regulations , including
CLOMRs/LOMRs .
As a
Lead Engineer , you'll
lead impactful projects, mentor rising talent, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and oversee construction phases
to bring cutting-edge water solutions to life. You'll be responsible for ensuring effective execution and delivery of the project design from concept through completion, while acting as a primary liaison for internal, client and subconsultant staff. In addition to project execution duties, the Lead Engineer will actively participate in marketing and client/public meeting processes. The Lead Engineer may act as a national or regional technical expert within a specific discipline or area of focus across organizational boundaries.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensures that projects are delivered on time, on budget and to the satisfaction of internal and external clients, with overall responsibility for the execution and delivery of the project from concept through completion. Independently makes major design decisions while coordinating the impact of such decisions across the entire project, both internal and externally. Assigns tasks and schedules to Staff Engineer (I/II), Project Engineer (I/II) and non-exempt project team members, answers questions, and monitors progress. Actively participates and leads client, public and subconsultant meetings throughout the lifecycle of assigned Water Resources projects. Acts as the primary point of contact for client staff. Interface independently with client staff to investigate and resolve issues affecting project progress. Pro-actively identifies technical, schedule or financial issues that may impact the project and, in collaboration with the client, identifies solutions. Is actively involved in the positioning and pursuit of large, complex projects, including development of scope and fee, participating in discovery/positioning conversations with clients, proposal and interview preparation, and client interviews that reflect depth of experience to the client, and help to gain competitive advantage for HR Green. Creates and maintains work plans to reflect design progress on assigned projects. Delegates work with production staff in multiple disciplines and ensure that work is effectively coordinated across internal discipline and external subconsultant staff. Ensures QA processes are followed by project staff and may personally check the accuracy (formal and informal QA/QC) of assigned tasks completed by other engineering and technical staff. Provides mentoring and/or technical leadership to less experienced staff in order to develop broad technical expertise for the organization within the Consulting Engineer's specialized discipline or functional area. Participates in technical and professional associations related to his/her area of expertise and presents technical papers and topics to increase the perceived expertise of the company. Signs and seals engineering documents as an authorized representative of the company. Education/Experience
Must have a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering. Must be professionally registered (P.E.) in one or more states in which HR Green conducts business (or have the ability to obtain such registration within six months of employment). Must possess eight or more years design/engineering experience and a demonstrated ability to act as an authorized agent of the company to sign engineering documents Prior experience planning, organizing and overseeing complex projects is required, as is experience leading diverse technical staff. Strong working knowledge of MS Office, design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, GeoPak or equivalent software. Prior experience with business development and marketing of projects is strongly preferred. Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
Must possess a current, valid Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Illinois. Ability to obtain licensure in one or more other states in which HR Green conducts business is preferred. The employee must be capable of driving/operating a motor vehicle for company business, and maintain a valid driver's license in the state of residence.

Compensation Range
$101,200.00 - $161,600
The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in accordance with the Illinois Salary Transparency amendment to the Equal Pay Act of 2003. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, skills, prior work experience, competencies, and geographic work location. The total annual compensation package may consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate, after a qualifying period, in our performance and discretionary incentive bonus program(s).
