Job Description
This role is categorized as hybrid, requiring the successful candidate to report to the Mountain View Technical Center in the Bay Area three times per week, at minimum. As a Lead ML Engineer, you will be pivotal in developing and deploying large-scale Foundation Models that advance our automotive technologies, specifically in the areas of Autonomous Driving and Robotics. Collaborating with a dynamic team of passionate AI and ML researchers, data scientists, and engineers, you will harness advanced AI techniques to drive innovation for Level 2, Level 3, and Level 4 applications, directly impacting the delivery of cutting-edge solutions that fulfill our customer needs.
What You'll Do:
Design and implement large-scale Foundation Models for diverse applications, capitalizing on recent advancements in AI and robotics.
Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate and build distillation recipes of Robotics foundation models for onboard driving models.
Analyze and optimize model performance, ensuring efficient training and deployment processes.
Conduct research to stay updated on the latest advancements in AI frameworks and libraries.
Lead projects from ideation to deployment, while documenting learnings and best practices.
Mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
Your Skills & Abilities:
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science focusing on Robotics or Machine Learning, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience working with large-scale Foundation Models, including LLMs, VLAs, and vision-focused models.
Proficient in frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow, with experience in libraries like HuggingFace and OpenAI GPT.
Strong data processing skills utilizing tools such as Numpy, Pandas, and Apache Spark.
Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Experience in deploying foundation models in production environments, with a thorough understanding of the end-to-end process.
Prior experience in Robotics or Autonomous Driving.
Compensation:
The compensation information provided is a good faith estimate based on the expected pay range for this role. The salary range for this position is $259,000 to $396,300, varying based on relevant factors. Bonus potential is available based on individual and company performance. Relocation benefits may be applicable.
