Sterile Processing Tech II (Days) Sterile Processing Full Time 85563BR Job Summary Incumbent decontaminates, operationally inspects, assembles, sterilizes, and distributes surgical instrumentation, implants, supplies, and equipment throughout the medical center. Incumbent maintains documentation related to these duties and assists in the training of other Sterile Processing Technicians. Incumbent pulls needed supplies and instruments for next day cases or emergent cases (E-Cases) by utilizing OR preference cards picklists. Performs all tasks necessary to prepare and maintain accurate surgical Case Carts. Incumbent operates and maintains sterilization equipment, decontamination equipment, and computer systems related to these duties. This position requires the flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. To learn more about the benefits of working at UCSF, including total compensation, please visit: .html Required Qualifications High School graduate, G.E.D. or equivalent A minimum of one (1) year of previous Sterile Processing technician experience Knowledge of all areas in SPD including: Decontamination Inspection, Assembly & Packaging (all service lines) Sterilization of Packaged Medical Devices QC & Sterilization record keeping Distribution of Sterile Products Preparation, Build, and QA of Case carts Detailed knowledge and ability to operate machinery including sterilizers, washers, and ultrasonic cleaners The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations Good communication and customer service skills Basic knowledge of computer systems including Windows OS, keyboard & mouse operations Demonstrated ability to competently perform multiple, complex tasks Knowledge of medical terminology Knowledge of standard precautions for safety and prevention of cross-contamination The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing The ability to understand, speak, and write English to communicate with nursing, technical, and medical staff The ability to safely move heavy trays and equipment, lifting to 50 pounds, and stand for prolonged periods of time Preferred Qualifications NA License/Certification Current Certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST), IAHCSMM or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT), CBSPD About UCSF At UCSF Health, our mission of innovative patient care, advanced technology and pioneering research is redefining what's possible for the patients we serve - a promise we share with the professionals who make up our team.
